Police are investigating an arson attack in which a shed containing 150 pigeons was burned to the ground.
Alun Smith called police to his allotment in Blaencwm in the Rhondda Valley following the fire early this morning.
Mr. Smith, who lives nearby, is well known in the pigeon-racing community, and had bred a number of award-winning birds.
South Wales Police are appealing for information after a fire killed 150 pigeons in Treherbert.
It's believed the pigeon sheds were targeted deliberately, and police are treating the incident as arson.
Around 150 of the 300 pigeons being kept at the site died in the fire.
