£1m lotto winner

A man from Caerphilly has won more than £1m on the lottery.

Alun Jones won the prize draw after buying a Lucky Dip ticket. He told ITV Cymru Wales that he didn't expect to win such a life-changing amount.

A man from Caerphilly has won a £1,135,578 Lotto Jackpot.

Alun Jones, 27, won the prize draw after buying a Lucky Dip ticket.

Alun, who lives with his parents, plans to use some of the money to buy a brand-new kitchen for his mum.

After finding out he'd won the life-changing sum, Alun decided to leave his job as a Health and Safety administrator in Nantgarw and think about his future.

I couldn’t believe it when I checked my emails on the Friday after being stuck in with all the snow. It certainly cheered me up when I saw the winning amount appear on the screen.

When I told my parents I’d won my mum burst into tears, but my dad took a ittle more convincing as he knows I’m a bit of a joker!

Apart from treating his parents, Alun is also looking to buy a car so he doesn’t have to borrow his mum’s!
