Carol Speed, the mother of former Wales manager Gary Speed, has spoken to ITV's This Morning about how she has tried to come to terms with her son's death.

She told ITV: Without my family and friends, I don't think I'd have got through it."

Carol Speed: "I don't think I'll ever accept it"

Carol Speed, the mother of former Wales manager Gary Speed, has spoken to ITV's This Morning about the difficulty of coming to terms with her son's death.

Speaking on the programme she said: "I don't think I'll ever accept it, in one way. I mean, I know he's gone, I know he's not coming back but... I can't accept it."

The mother of former Wales manager Gary Speed has been speaking publicly for the first time about her son's death.

Carol Speed told ITV's This Morning she had no indication that her son was suffering from depression.

The 42-year-old was found hanged at his Cheshire home 15 months ago. The coroner at the inquest into his death said he counldn't be satisfied he had intended to kill himself.
