Depleted regions in PRO12

The Ospreys moved back into the RaboDirect PRO12 play-off spots by beating Edinburgh. The Blues lost to Connacht and the Scarlets were beaten by Leinster. The Dragons have won against Zebre. All of the regions are currently without Six Nations stars.

Scarlets easily beaten by Leinster

The Scarlets had their pride dented as Leinster, rival candidates for the PRO12 play-off spots, grabbed a bonus point in a 32-5 victory in Dublin.

The hosts scored tries through Andrew Goodman, Aaron Dundon, Jordi Murphy and John Cooney.

Andy Fenby touched down for the Llanelli side's only try, as Leinster added 21 unanswered points after the break.

Cardiff Blues 22 Connacht 26

Cardiff Blues fought back from being 12-0 down within the first six minutes, but were ultimately edged out by Connacht in their PRO12 clash at the Arms Park.

Gavin Duffy and Willie Faloon both touched down for the Irish side early on, before Harry Robinson dived to score in the corner to reduce the deficit to 15-8 at half-time.

Blues No.8 Robin Copeland's try then put his side in the lead, but that lasted only four minutes before Faloon darted over to score his second.

A Rhys Patchell penalty closed the gap again, but Miah Nikora was also on target with three points, for Connacht to seal victory.

Ospreys 24 Edinburgh 7

The Ospreys are back in the PRO12 play-off places, after beating Edinburgh at the Liberty Stadium.

Man of the match Morgan Allen scored two tries from No.8, and scrum half Rhys Webb got another, but the Welsh side failed to get a bonus point.

Edinburgh crossed through Hamish Watson, but also had centre Nick de Luca sent off for a dangerous tip tackle late on, as they slipped to their tenth defeat in a row in all competitions.
