Queen cancels Swansea visit due to gastroenteritis

The Queen has cancelled a visit to Swansea as she is "experiencing symptoms of gastroenteritis", a Buckingham Palace spokesperson has said.

Queen Elizabeth II was due to make the trip tomorrow.

"She will be assessed in the coming days", the spokesperson said, adding "Her Majesty is currently spending the weekend at Windsor, as usual".

Council: Queen's Swansea visit cancelled 'due to minor illness'

Swansea Council has announced the Queen will no longer be visiting the city tomorrow, due an illness.

Due to minor illness, Her Majesty The Queen is unable to attend Saturday's event. The ceremony will continue as planned and will be carried out by the Lord Lieutenant of West Glamorgan, Mr Byron Lewis.
