An auction of paintings by Welsh artists "surpassed expectations", according to Bonhams. The sale, which took place in Chester on March 6th, saw a landscape by Sir Kyffin Williams fetch £32,450 - exceeding an estimate of £18,000 – 22,000.

An auction of paintings by Welsh artists "surpassed expectations", according to auction house Bonhams.
The sale, which took place in Chester on March 6th, saw a landscape by Sir Kyffin Williams fetch £32,450 - exceeding an estimate of £18,000 – 22,000.
"Most of the Kyffin Williams pictures went to great enthusiasts of his work, both in Wales and in the rest of the country" said a spokesperson.
