Halfpenny unshaken over Lions showdown with Hogg

Wales skills coach Neil Jenkins believes full back Leigh Halfpenny is totally unshaken by the prospect of a Lions selection showdown with in-form Scotland fifteen Stuart Hogg when the two sides meet at Murrayfield this afternoon.

Lions coach Warren Gatland is sure to be taking a keen interest in the duel between the two in-form players in the position in Europe, and arguably the world.

Hogg has been the standout player for his country during thei rimpressive 2013 campaign.

A full length of the field breakaway try against Italy was a certain contender for try of the tournament, and further enhanced the view that he is in the dirving seat for selection when Gatland names his side to take on Australia later this year.

Halfpenny has been far from low-key himself though, being one of the few Welsh players to come out of a torrid Autumn campaign with his reputation in-tact; form which has continued throughout Wales' recent turnaround in fortunes.

"If you watch the way he prepares, the way he practices for every game, he's no different" Jenkins said.

"Obviously he's up against an excellent player. But he'll focus on his own game. If he can play like he has been playing things will look after themselves in that (Lions) way."

"It will be a great test for us tomorrow, in terms of out kick-chase and how we defend and mark him. "In terms of Pens (Halfpenny) he's just going about his business as he normally does. He's workld class at this moment in time."
