A 45-year-old man has denied murdering a 34-year-old man at a pub in Wrexham.

Francisco Prevete appeared before Judge Merfyn Hughes QC at Caernarfon Crown Court, charged with killing Craig Maddocks at the Cambrian Vaults venue in June.

Mr Prevete was remanded in custody and will appear on October 2nd before Mold Crown Court.

Police are renewing their appeal for witnesses following the death of a man at a Wrexham pub.

Craig Maddocks was discovered at the Cambrian Vaults public house in the early hours of Wednesday 26th June 2013.

Detective Superintendent Graham Talbot said, “A number of witnesses have come forward. However, having viewed CCTV footage, there are still a significant number of people who have not yet been spoken to. We are keen to speak to everyone who was in the Cambrian Vaults public house."

A man has appeared in court in Mold charged with the murder of Craig Maddocks at a pub in the centre of Wrexham.

At a special sitting of Flintshire Magistrates' Court, Francisco John Prevete, 45, of Weale Court in Wrexham, spoke only to confirm his name and personal details during the short two minute hearing.

He was remanded in custody and will appear at Mold Crown Court on Monday for a bail hearing.

Mr Maddocks, 34, from Llay, was pronounced dead after police were called to the Cambrian Vaults in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

A 45-year-old man from Wrexham has been arrested on suspicion of murder after an incident in the town centre.

Police attended the Cambrian Hotel on Town Hill in Wrexham in the early hours of this morning, following a report that a man had been seriously injured.

A 34-year-old man from the Llay area of the town was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are not appealing for witnesses to contact them on 101, or to call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
