Family and friends of a 24-year-old man who died at Cantref reservoir on Sunday have left flowers in his memory.

Earlier today Dyfed Powys Police confirmed they had recovered a man's body from the water yesterday evening.

Police say there aren't thought to have been any suspicious circumstances.

Body found after Cantref reservoir search

A man's body has been found during a search for a missing man at Cantref reservoir.

Dyfed-Powys Police can confirm that following an extensive search of the Cantref Reservoir yesterday afternoon, tragically the body of a 24 year old man was recovered from the water yesterday evening. Next of kin and HM Coroner have been informed, and there aren’t believed to be any suspicious circumstances.

Police confirm missing man search

Dyfed Powys Police have confirmed a major operation at Cantref Reservoir in the Brecon Beacons was sparked by a missing man.

In a statement, the force said there were called to the reservoir at around 2.45pm after reports of a missing man and emergency responders conducted searches at the scene.

The A470 at Merthyr and the junction of the A4059 were closed while the search was carried out.

Emergency services are at a major incident at Cantref Reservoir in the Brecon Beacons. Dyfed Powys Police have confirmed an operation in underway, but are currently unable to release any further information. It is believed they are searching for a missing man.
