For many people having their homes adapted can mean they keep their independence and freedom. But there have been calls for a fairer system of providing adaptations. A National Assembly committee has called for authorities in Wales to produce a customer charter to set out people's rights.
There needs to be a less complicated system of providing home adaptations to people in Wales, according to an Assembly committee.
It's calling for all local authorities to set out people's rights more clearly and allow people to have more of a say in the service they receive.
The Committee also wants to see means testing for Disability Facilities Grants reassessed as it believes it is currently too complicated.
The Welsh Government says it's reviewing the system.
