Beach plans for Cardiff Bay

Plans for the further regeneration of Cardiff Bay has been drawn up by the group Imagine Cardiff, with proposals including a Blue Flag beach, a 'floating stage' in the water and affordable housing.

A masterplan for the further regeneration of the area has been drawn up by the group Imagine Cardiff, with proposals including a new bus and train station and a 'floating stage' in the water.

The main proposals put forward for Cardiff Bay are:

A new 2km 'Blue Flag' beach in Cardiff Bay

A residential area called Baltimore Village in the Bay, with affordable housing

A Cardiff tram network - an idea widely discussed previously

Two wetland reserves on the Rivers Taff & Ely

A Bay water theatre - or 'floating stage'
