Cardiff City out of League Cup

Cardiff City are out of the Capital One Cup after losing 3-2 away at West Ham United. The Hammers opened up a strong early lead with two goals in the first eight minutes. Cardiff City clawed back two goals before the home side scored a third.

FT: West Ham 3 - 2 Cardiff City

There was disappointment for Cardiff City in a nail biting third League Cup match at Upton Park.

Things were looking up in the second half when Odemwingie scored Cardiff's second goal in the 76th minute taking the scores level.

West Ham however came back with a third goal in the final few minutes - the final score West Ham 3 Cardiff City 2.

Cardiff trail one point behind West Ham in the Capital One Cup this evening.

A goal in the first minute from West Ham's Ravel Morrison gave the hosts an early lead with another shortly after in the seventh minute from Matthew Jarvis.

A last minute goal from Cardiff's Craig Noone gave the Bluebirds a point just before the half time whistle.

Cardiff City face West Ham in the third round of the Capital One Cup tonight.

The Bluebirds travel to Upton Park after their 1-0 Premier League defeat against Tottenham on Sunday.

With both teams having won one, drawn two and lost two of their five league matches so far, its set to be an interesting match.
