The mother of a teenage boy found hanged at a school in Pembrokeshire last week has paid tribute to him.
Tributes have been paid to a 14-year-old boy found dead in the grounds of his school in Pembroke.
Derek Brundrett has been described as a likeable and popular student who was loyal, gentle and caring.
He was found hanged in a wooded area at Pembroke School yesterday afternoon.
The headteacher of Pembroke Comprehensive School says staff and pupils are 'deeply shocked and saddened' by the death of a 14-year-old pupil.
Derek Brundrett was found hanged in woodland on the school grounds yesterday.
Around 1,294 pupils aged 11-18 attend the school, which serves the towns of Pembroke and Pembroke Dock.
Dyfed Powys Police are investigating the death of a 14-year-old boy at Pembroke Comprehensive School this afternoon.
He was found hanged in a woodland area of the school after disappearing from his lunch break.
Dyfed-Powys Police said the boy's family have been informed as well as the coroner.
A police spokesperson said:
"Pembrokeshire Police have commenced enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the tragic death of a 14 year old boy which occurred in Pembroke Comprehensive School.
"Police school liaison officers have been working with the school to ensure the well being of the rest of the pupils."
