£160,000 raised to bring injured soldier home from Thailand

An ex-soldier from Pontypool says he's been overwhelmed by the support given to his sick brother. Dave Kyffin needed to raise £100,000 for a special flight to bring his brother Stuart home from Thailand.

Stuart suffered severe head injuries in a motorbike accident there three months ago and didn't have medical insurance.

He's now being treated back in Britain after generous donors gave more than £160,000 to his cause.

Hannah Thomas reports.

Family raises thousands to bring injured soldier back to UK

The family of an injured SAS soldier has raised over £160,000 to have him brought home from Thailand.

Stuart Kyffin suffered a severe brain injury when he was involved in a motorcycle crash in October, and has been in a coma ever since.

But, following a huge fundraising campaign led by Stuart's brother Dave, he was flown back to the UK.

He's currently being treated at a hospital in Hull where he's showing signs of improvement.

Dave says he couldn't have done it without the support of the British public.
