The Welsh Government says it will consider the 'possibility' of legislation to ban smoking in cars, but that it will first wait for its' campaign against smoking in cars to end.
The Fresh Start Wales campaign, which encourages people not to smoke in cars, comes to an end in March. The Welsh Government says it will wait to assess the impact this campaign has had before considering whether to ban smoking in cars altogether.
MPs have supported calls to ban smoking in cars. In a vote in the House of Commons last night, MPS voted to give England's Health Secretary the power to impose a ban in England. The move also allows the Welsh Government to introduce it in Wales.
