Police searching for a missing man in Llanelli have confirmed a body in the Delta Lakes area of the town is missing 25-year-old Richard Thomas Chandler, from Kettering in Northamptonshire.

A man recovered from Delta Lakes in Llanelli on Monday has been formally identified as 25-year-old Richard Thomas Chandler, police have confirmed.

Mr Chandler from Kettering, Northamptonshire, was working in Llanelli on a roofing contract when he went missing on Thursday.

Tributes have been paid by his family:

“He was a loving son, brother, grandson, father and partner. He was loved by all who knew him and will be sadly missed. We as a family would like to thank everyone for their kind support during this sad time.”

Dyfed Powys Police says officers searching for the 25 year old have found a body in the Delta Lakes area of Llanelli.

A police spokesperson said formal identification has not yet taken place, but Mr Chandler's family have been informed.


Residents asked to check gardens and outbuildings for missing 25-year-old

Dyfed Powys Police have asked residents of Llanelli to check their gardens and outbuildings in their search for a missing man.

Richard Thomas Chandler, 25, from Kettering in Northamptonshire was last seen on Thursday 3rd July.

Mr Chandler has not been seen since Thursday

He was in Llanelli working on a roofing contract in the Trostre area.

Police are searching areas all around Llanelli and close to where Mr Chandler was staying.

They want to thank the community for their co-operation whilst the enquiries continue.

Police in Llanelli are increasingly concerned for the welfare of a missing man. 25 year old Richard Thomas Chandler was last seen at 23.54 on the 3rd July walking along New Dock Road, in the direction of Machynys. He hasn't been heard from since, which is said to be out of character.

Richard is from Kettering in Northamptonshire, but is currently working on a roofing contract in the Trostre area. He has been in the Llanelli area for the past three weeks.

During this time he has been staying in the Miramar Hotel in Station Road on weekdays, before travelling home to Kettering on the weekend.

He's around 5'8" tall, of stocky build, with auburn/dark hair. He was last seen wearing a grey Adidas hoodie, grey tracksuit bottoms with red "V" on the back pockets and black and light blue trainers. Anyone with information is asked to call the police on 101.
