A 28-year-old man from Newport has appeared in court accused of murdering his girlfriend.
Kristofer Mitchell is charged with the murder of Jess Watkins, who was 21, at an address in Bryn Bevan, in the Malpas area of the city, between Saturday 3 and Tuesday 6 May.
He appeared at Newport Magistrates Court this morning, where he spoke only to confirm his name, age and address.
He has been remanded in custody to appear at Newport Crown Court tomorrow.
