Former footballer Robbie Savage has donated his trademark blonde ponytail to the National Football Museum in Manchester. The hair will be handed over to the museum later.

His flowing locks will join a 14,000-strong collection of sporting artifacts at the museum. Savage, whose playing career included Crewe and Blackburn, joked that he decided to get his hair cut after mistaking his wife's passport for his own.
