North Wales Police say they're at the scene of 'multiple' collisions on the A55 - with the number of crashes forcing them to close the eastbound carriageway.

Police are urging motorists in the area to drive safely, with snow, ice and hail making the roads slippery.

Following the collisions there have been long queues on the A55 in both directions, and road closures are in place between Junctions 4 and 5.

The A55 is closed in both directions and there is stationary traffic after an accident involving two vehicles between J17 (Conwy Morfa) and J18 (Conwy / Llandudno Junction).

It is in the roadworks area.

Emergency services are at the scene of the collision in the tunnel. Only one tunnel is in use with a contraflow operating. That means A55 traffic has been halted in both directions just before the entrance of the tunnel on either side.
