Farmer admits animal cruelty

A Ceredigion farmer with convictions for animal cruelty was told this afternoon he faced a jail sentence after he admitted fresh offences.

Alban David Rees, aged 56, admitted two offences of causing unnecessary suffering to cows by failing to provide suitable care and attention.

His wife Sara Linda Rees admitted the same offences at the couple's farm in Beulah, near Newcastle Emlyn.

The couple were granted bail until a sentencing hearing in May.
