Search underway amid reports of plane crash

A major air and sea search operation is underway near Fishguard, Pembrokeshire, amid reports that a plane may have crashed.

Residents in Trefin reported two fast jets flying low overhead just after 7pm. There were also reports of a loud blast moments later.

A rescue helicopter from RAF Chivenor in addition to two all-weather RNLI lifeboats have been called by Milford Haven coastguards.

One dead in North Wales crash

North Wales Police say a woman in her early 30s has died and two other people have been injured in a head-on car collision in Gwynedd.

Emergency services were called to the A4244 at Deiniolen, near Llanberis, this afternoon.

It's understood a Land Rover and a second smaller car were involved in a head-on crash at around 1:20pm today.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The two other people involved have been taken to hospital, but their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
