Cardiff City have strengthened their grip on a Championship play-off place with a 2-0 win over Derby County. Malky Mackay's side remain sixth in the table after the victory, but are now four points clear of seventh-place Middlesbrough, with only two league games remaining.
Joe Mason put the Bluebirds in front at the Cardiff City Stadium, although his 11th goal of the season came only after the visitors had had a goal disallowed.
Defender Mark Hudson made sure of all three points midway through the second half. He seized upon a poor kick from Derby goalkeeper Frank Fielding and saw his effort from inside his own half find the net.
