The Met Office has a yellow 'be aware' warning for heavy rain in force for South Wales, Powys and Pembrokeshire.

The Environment Agency has issued four flood alerts:

  • Rivers in the Ewenny and Vale of Glamorgan west catchments.
  • Rivers in the Llynfi and Ogmore catchments.
  • Rivers in the Taf and Cynin catchments.
  • Rivers in south Pembrokeshire.

Natural Resources Wales says the forecast remains unsettled for the rest of the week with further bands of heavy rain expected.

It says in many places the ground will already be saturated from recent heavy rainfall, so further rain could find its way into rivers quickly leading to Flood Alerts being issued.

Blocked drains caused by fallen leaves are also likely to cause flooding of road surfaces, so people are advised to take extra care while travelling.
