Wales rugby star Gareth Thomas will be in the rink for the new series of Dancing on Ice.

He'll be joined by Keith Chegwin, Baywatch actress Pamela Anderson, X Factor winner Shayne Ward and Lauren Goodger from The Only Way Is Essex.

Olympians Beth Tweddle and Luke Campbell are also getting their skates on along with soap stars Samia Ghadie, who plays Maria Connor in Coronation Street, and Matt Lapinskas who played Anthony Moon in EastEnders.

Anthea Turner, Joe Pasquale and former MP Oona King are also on the ITV show, which makes its return on Sunday January 6.

Alfie's Hollywood health kick

He may have hung up his boots but Gareth Thomas is showing he is still a fitness fanatic.

In his first fitness DVD, launched today, the former dual rugby code international is joned by some of his celebrity pals including Hollywood star Mickey Rourke and his Celebrity Big Brother Housemates.

Part of the proceeds from the sale of 'Gareth Thomas The Real Celebrity Fitness DVD' will go to the rugby star's charity, which aims to provide young people with access to music and sport.

Stars turn out for Gareth Thomas' fundraiser

Stars of the stage and screen turned out in force to support Gareth Thomas and his charitable foundation at a gala dinner at Newport's Celtic Manor.

The former Wales captain was joined by Cardiff City players, Wales rugby internationals as well as Thomas' celebrity Big Brother housemates.

But the star of the show was Hollywood A-lister , and the man behind the proposed movie about Thomas' life, Micky Rouke.

Rouke and Thomas, who walked the red carpet together before posing for photos, have struck up an unlikely friendship since a chance meeting between the Wrestler and Sin City actor and a touring British rugby team.

I speak to Micky regularly and we've become really good friends. As soon as I asked him there was no hesitation. He cleared his diary and booked the flights.
