Chartered surveyors say the number of homes sold in Wales was at its highest, for the three months to September, for seven years.
The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) survey also says it shows the extent the market's picking up.
It says, in tandem with increasing numbers of sales, prices continued to grow in Wales with 20 percent more respondents reporting rises rather than falls.
The number of housing transactions held firm in Wales during January, says the latest RICS housing market survey.
Chartered surveyors reported a slight increase in the number of newly-agreed sales with five percent more saying levels rose.
Prices also edged up slightly.
