Police searching for a pensioner who has been missing from his Ceredigion home for a fortnight say they have found a body.

78 year old John Davies from Llancynfelin was last seen in his car driving towards Aberystwyth. The former policeman and Welsh Guardsman was suffering from the early stages of dementia. Dyfed Powys Police say they will release more details later

Concern is growing for a Ceredigion pensioner who's been missing since the beginning of the week. 78-year-old John Davies from Llancynfelyn near Machynlleth suffers from the early stages of dementia. He was last seen in his maroon Rover car at Taliesin on Monday morning.

Help needed to find missing Machynlleth man

Police fear for the safety of a 78 year old man who’s been missing from his home near Machynlleth since Monday.

John Davies was last seen in his car on the A487 near Taliesin at 11am.

Police say Mr Davies is suffering from early stages of dementia and worry that he has become disorientated or confused.

He’s described as 5’8 to 5’10 tall and was wearing fawn coloured trousers with a camel coloured jumper and brown shoes.
