A Carmarthenshire man, who was detained by a militia group in Libya, says he hopes to be back home with his family within days. Gareth Montgomery-Johnson and a colleague were stopped by the armed group while they were working for an Iranian TV station.
Two British Journalists held in Libya transferred into government custody
Gareth Montgomery-Johnson and Nicholas Davies-Jones have been handed to the Libyan Government after being detained for 3 weeks by Swehli militia. They were accused of spying after initially being held captive for illegal entry into Libya.
On Tuesday (March 13) a video was released of the journalists stating that they were being treated well and that they would like to apologise to the Libyan authorities after entering the country illegally.
