The Welsh Government is helping to fund six bands to go to a music festival in America. It's hoped acts will attract business to Wales and raise the profile of our talent.
The South by Southwest festival in Texas is already underway.
David Wood meets Cardiff-based band Islet, one of the groups taking part.
The Manic Street Preachers have announced they will play a headline slot at this year's Festival No. 6 in Portmeirion, Gwynedd.
The festival - which runs from 13th - 15th September - will see the band's first live show in the UK since 2011.
"The band are currently recording their eleventh studio album - some of which may well be aired for the first time on holy Welsh soil at this one-off 2013 UK festival appearance", the band said on their website.
