BREAKING: Solskjaer on the brink of being sacked

Cardiff City manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is in London for talks over his future with the club, ITV Wales understands. He is speaking to the club's chairman. It comes after Tuesday's one nil defeat to Middlesbrough. Solskjaer has admitted the performance was not good enough.

We just did not get going. Our first attack looked promising and then we got countered and conceded.

We didn't need to do that in the first few minutes, we wanted to go and turn things around from losing to Norwich on Saturday and that knocked our confidence.

We want to prove we are better than we showed against Norwich and it never happened.

The first half was very poor, we got more second balls in the second half and we pushed them back, but we did not create any moments of quality to open them up which was very disappointing.

"I'm loving it" says Ole on life as Cardiff manager

Cardiff manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is glad he ignored Steve Bruce's advice to avoid a career in coaching.

The two former Manchester United favourites come face-to-face for the first time on Saturday in a match that's a big chance to bank three important points in the league relegation battle.

"I don't really know Brucey that well because he left before I came to United, but we've met a few times," said Solskjaer. "I remember he said to me a few years ago about management 'don't even think about it because it's too stressful'.

"But I enjoy it, I love it. You could have an easy life - it's not like you have to work because you've made your money - but that's not me."

Cardiff will once again be looking to another player with Manchester United connections, Wilfried Zaha, for inspiration this weekend.

The England winger made just two league appearances under Moyes before being sent to Cardiff and Solskjaer has been impressed with his reaction to the move.

"Wilf has had a period, probably for the first time, where he's not played regularly. There are two ways you can look at that - feel sorry for yourself and give up or reflect on what you need to do to get better. He's come in here really bright in training and took on board what we've said."

Daehli has won two caps for Norway.

He joins Magnus Wolff Eikrem, who made his debut in defeat to West Ham this afternoon, in South Wales.
