Watch video: Rugby star goes off-road in truck racing

Wales rugby star Scott Williams got behind the wheel of a turbocharged truck - ahead of the British Truck Racing Championship in Pembrey this weekend.

He was shown how to do it by pro driver Stuart Oliver, before the 23-year-old Scarlets centre had a go himself.

He got up to speed quickly - clocking laps just six seconds slower than the pros - but also had a bit of an 'off' onto the grass - as this video shows from both outside and inside the truck.

Our reporter Alexandra Lodge spoke to him afterwards.

80mph gust already recorded in Wales

As a severe storm heads towards Wales, Pembrey has already experienced a gust at 80mph. James will have all the details on the storm's track and severity just before half past 12 today.

The storm also coincides with the 100th anniversary of a tornado that swept through Wales. See how it's remembered by clicking here
