A jet powered bike will be tested at Pendine Sands in Carmarthenshire this weekend and it may break British records.

Jet Reaction uses an adapted helicopter engine to power it to a possible 450 mph.

It will be driven by Richard Brown, an Oxfordshire based engineer, who conceived and built the vehicle.

A bid for the two-wheeled land speed record will be attempted at Bonneville Salt Flats, Utah, in America in September.

An outright Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM ) land speed record is one of the finest opportunities any team can have to demonstrate engineering innovation, within the rules applied by the relevant governing bodies the challenge is to engineer a superior machine making it the best in the world.
