James Dobb, from Rhayader in Powys, told our presenter Ruth Wignall what was going through his head as his parachute was entangled in the fuselage of the helicopter as he was preparing to jump.
He said it was a "shock" when he realised he was entangled, and he realises how close he came to a disaster - "game over", as he describes it.
"I don't like to think about what could have happened."
Actor Hugh Grant turned heads in Rhayader last Friday when he stopped off in the Powys town for lunch.
"There was a real buzz in the town" bistro owner Andrew Lewis told the County Times.
“I don’t think he stayed long, but it is always nice and a bit of a shock when someone famous arrives in town.”
