Appeal after body found off North Wales coast

North Wales Police are appealing for information after the body of a man was brought ashore in North Wales yesterday.

The man, in his fifties, was found in the water off Rhos on Sea by Llandudno inshore lifeboat.

Police have described him as white, six feet tall, with short curly grey hair.

They are currently treating his death as unexplained.

A post-mortem examination is due to be held later today.

The body of an 'unknown' man has been recovered from the sea off the North Wales coast.

A spokesperson for North Wales Police said the man was discovered at Rhos-on-Sea at around 11am this morning.

Police were assisted by the coastguard, and a section of the promenade in Colwyn Bay near the area was closed off.

Police say an investigation is underway.

A pedestrian has died after a car crash in Rhos-on-Sea. North Wales Police say that one vehicle was involved in the collision on Rhos Road this afternoon. A woman in her 70's died at the scene. Another pedestrian has received serious injuries, the driver of the car has also been taken to hospital.

A spokesperson for North Wales Police said:

"Emergency vehicles are still at the scene and are likely to be for several hours. The promenade at Rhos on Sea has been closed between Cayley Embankment and Penrhyn Road, Rhos on Sea. HM Coroner has been informed."

North Wales Police are asking any person who witnessed the collision, or who may have information to assist this investigation to contact the Roads Policing Unit at St Asaph on 101.
