Last minute present buyers set new record at Cardiff Shopping centre

The weather hasn't stopped the last minute Christmas shoppers it would seem.

St David's shopping centre in Cardiff is reporting a record breaking week, with over 1.3 million shoppers visiting the centre over the past 7 days spending up to 2.5 million a day.

Over the weekend over 380,000 customers visited St David’s Dewi Sant which helped set a new sales record for the centre.

"We’re thrilled to report that St David’s has been incredibly busy this weekend, and these outstanding results speaking for themselves. As Christmas Eve has fallen on a Monday this year, we effectively gained an extra shopping weekend just days away from Christmas, which has provided a significant boost to sales within the centre.

"The tradition of Boxing Day sales are always highly anticipated by shoppers, and they create a real buzz across the centre. We are expecting the centre to be particularly busy this year, as key retailers begin their much anticipated sales
