A clear and chilly night in parts of Wales overnight allowed some fine pictures of a lunar phenomenon, often called a supermoon, to be taken.
Closer to the Earth than at any point in it's elliptical path, the moon appears 14% larger and around 30% than it does when it's furthest away.
Suggestions that the arrival of such a large moon brings natural disasters are dismissed by scientists, however, higher tides are expected as the moon earth and sun are in alignment.
