'Brutal and heartless murder'

Justice Wyn Williams has today sentenced John Mason to life in prison for the murder of 66 year old Angelika Dries-Jenkins.

Mason will serve a minimum of 30 years in prison before being considered for parole.

On sentencing Mason Justice Wyn Williams said:

You've been convicted of a brutal and heartless murder and you did it so you could steal Angelika Dries-Jenkins' money. This was a despicable crime. You spent her money and went about it without a care in the world.

There is a very real likelihood you will spend the rest of your life in jail

– Justice Wyn Williams
