Ship oil salvage begins

The owners of a cargo ship which ran aground in rough seas near Colwyn Bay hope to remove around 35 tonnes of fuel from the stricken vessel over the next few days. Work started last night to remove the oil.

Both sides of the A55 nearby have now re-opened.

Cargo ship salvage

Work will start tomorrow on breaking up the stricken cargo ship which ran aground near Colwyn Bay last week. All the fuel has been taken off the MV Carrier, along with oily water and other hazardous materials.
