Western Power Distribution says that five thousand homes in South East Wales are without electricity because of the bad weather.
They say that properties in Swansea, Cardiff and the Valleys are worst affected.
The high number of incidents due to strong winds and heavy rain mean that they are working at ten times their usual rate.
