First research centre for new arthritis treatments

Wales' first research centre dedicated to creating new drugs and treatments for arthritis sufferers launches today. It'll be based in Cardiff University's School of Medicine and will inititally help around 50 patients in South Wales.

The Arthritis Research UK Experimental Arthritis Treatment Centre (CREATE) will work with volunteer patients from Cardiff and the Vale University Health Board to test drugs used in other conditions to help those who suffer with rheumatoid and psoriatic arthritis.
