Police appeal after 'disturbing' Pontardawe sheep attack

Neath police are appealing for information after a 'disturbing' and 'mindless' attack on a sheep at a Pontardawe farm.

A ewe was stabbed in the head with a large screwdriver, which was left embedded. Police believe the attack happened sometime between last Sunday and Tuesday lunchtime.

The ewe, who had young lambs, was treated by a vet and is now recovering.

This was a very disturbing attack upon a defenceless animal and I am appealing for any information in connection with this incident. This appalling incident has caused great distress to the injured animal as well as to the farmer, and we are doing all we can to find out who is responsible for this mindless behaviour.
