Welsh soldiers repatriated from Afghanistan

The bodies of the two Welsh soldiers who died in Afghanistan this weekend have been returned to the UK.

Leonard Thomas and Craig Roderick have been repatriated to RAF Brize Norton along with a third man, Apete Tuisovurua from Fiji, who died alongside them.

Mr Roderick, from Cardiff, was a guardsman for the 1st Battalion Welsh Guards, along with Mr Tuisovurua. Mr Thomas served with the The Royal Corps of Signals.

The MoD confirmed that the three men were killed when a man dressed in an Afghan police uniform opened fire at them.
