Llangollen Railway volunteers start to build steam engine

Down in the engine sheds at Llangollen's Railway, they don't just repair trains - they're actually beginning to construct an entire steam engine from scratch.

It's a project that'll cost £1.5m.

'You start off with the drawings and assemble it bit by bit" says Dave Owen, Chief Engineer at the railway. "At the end of the day the thing will come together '.
