The funeral of Welsh Guard Craig Roderick, killed in Afghanistan on July 1st, will be held this afternoon.
22-year-old Guardsman Roderick had been part of a patrol meeting a detachment of the Afghan National Civil Order Police at a checkpoint in Helmand Province.
On leaving the compound, the soldiers came under fire from a man dressed in an Afghan police uniform.
Guardsman Roderick later died from his injuries, along with fellow Welsh Guard Apete Tuisovurua, and Warrant Officer Leonard Perran Thomas, who served with the Royal Corps of Signals.
