Man dies after Aberystwyth coast rescue

Dyfed Powys Police have confirmed a man rescued from waters off the coast of Aberystwyth this morning has died.

Officers attended the beach area of Aberystwyth near the Glengower Hotel this morning following reports that a man had got into difficulty in the sea. The coastguard, RNLI and ambulance service were at the scene and the casualty was recovered from the water. Paramedics then conveyed the casualty to Bronglais Hospital, where sadly he was then confirmed dead. There are no suspicious circumstances and HM Coroner has been informed.

It follows the news that a 15-year-old boy has died in hospital after falling from rocks while fishing near Llangennith, Gower, last night.
