More than 4.5million counterfeit cigarettes have been seized in Ceredigion.
They were discovered after a raid by officers from Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs at an industrial estate in Aberystwyth.
Unpaid tax on the fake cigarettes is estimated at a million pounds. Three men have been arrested, though no-one has yet been charged.
It’s part of an operation by HMRC aimed at clamping down on cigarette smuggling, which they say costs the taxpayer around two billion pounds a year in unpaid tax.
