South Wales Police are investigating a fire at a block of flats in Campbell Court, New Road, Porthcawl on Saturday night.
A 49 year old man was taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation and later released following treatment.
A 29 year old local man has been arrested by police and is in custody at Bridgend Police Station
