The Mayor of Machynlleth Gareth Jones says he believes hope has not yet faded for April Jones, who has been missing since Monday.
He also highlighted the need to continue supporting the local community after an 'extremely difficult' week.
"It's important that there's support in place for everybody, obviously April and her family and the general community at large as well," Mr Jones said.
"There's still hope for April."
Prisoners in HMP Shewsbury have donated a bench in memory of missing five-year-old April Jones.
More than two hundred people took part in a charity walk to raise money for the April Jones Fund.
