Antique Eisteddfod chair stolen from Gwynedd

Police are asking antique dealers to remain vigilant after several distinctive items went missing from the Coed Y Parc area of Bethesda in Gwynedd earlier this week.

They include an oak Eisteddfod Chair, measuring 120cm in height, inscribed 'Corwen 1889' - above which is believed to be inscribed 'Eisteddfod Gadeiriol' and the Awen symbol of three lines.

Also missing is an oak bureau and table, plus several paintings and ornaments.

The items are believed to have been taken sometime between midday on Tuesday and early evening on Wednesday.

I would appeal to those who deal in or purchase antique furniture to be alert, particularly as some of the articles are unique and very distinctive. If you have been offered property of this description recently please contact the police.
