Woman charged over Prestatyn house fire due in court

42-year-old Melanie Jane Smith, accused of causing the deaths of four people in a house fire in Prestatyn, is due to appear in court today.

Lee-Anna Shiers, 20, her 15-month-old son Charlie, and her four-year old nephew Bailey and two-year-old niece Skye died in the blaze on Friday October 19.

Ms Smith is charged with four counts of murder, one count of arson with intent to endanger life and one count of threats to cause criminal damage. She denies all charges.

She is due to appear at Mold Crown Court later today.
