Police in North Wales searching for missing vet Catherine Gowing have been alerted to the discovery of human remains in Chester.
An off-duty Cheshire Police officer found the remains this afternoon while walking the banks of the River Dee, at Ferry Lane, in the Higher Ferry area of the town.
North Wales Police say a post mortem and forensic examination will take place to determine identification.
On Wednesday, remains were found several miles away at Sealand in Flintshire.
37-year-old Catherine Gowing, who lives in New Brighton in Flintshire, has not been seen for three weeks.
Police are also awaiting identification of further remains found on the banks of the River Dee in Chester on Friday.
The 37-year-old has now been missing from her home in Flintshire for over three weeks.
